Norwegian wood
on radio1 today I heard this news:
"great success at the Venice Film Festival for "Norwegian Wood" the film based on the famous book by Haruki Murakami on the sexual revolution of the 60 Japanese "
stop!
O I read the wrong book or the journalist does not know what he's talking about!
Norwegian Wood is a book about the difficult transition from adolescence to adulthood, on the fear of making choices or that someone made for you, fear of making mistakes and to love, is a book about also pain, accepting the loss of someone, is a book about loneliness but also of friendship, in a prose sometimes a bit slow and sad but soothing and exciting together.
Of course there is sex in the book, but it's an extra step of complicity after the friendship ...
I do not understand this title forcibly simplistic on a book (and hopefully a movie) that there would be much to say, even if it was just a passage of the World news could have said something different.
